Shoe Lovin'

A little bit of shoe surfing can leave you gasping for breath, as you wonder where in all this universe would you find all those monies to pocket every single pair that has been created for a woman to walk tall, proud and sexy.

On another note, I hope you are all doing great. Will be sure to post more next month!

Which pair of shoes are at the top of your wishlist?

She

My grandfather of a laptop has finally called it quits to my 24-hour surfing addiction and critically jeopardized my chances of photo editing or blogging. I can't even view pictures because these lines always show up on my screen and I can't really see anything properly. That, combined with my upcoming exams, are the root cause of slackening in blog posts and comments [I try to return everybody's comment on their respective blogs]. However, my ever-so-cool Dad bought me a replacement, so I'll be back to my normal pace by this week. For now, let me bore you with some poetry, which I had written a few years ago. I think it might have been my first non-corny poem. So here goes!
Also, you can listen to Dan Black's 'Wonder' while you're at it.

The music fills her ears while she listens to what her heart tries to tell her,
The words of the song don't mean a thing; a stand still overcomes her thoughts.
Life in one word would never occur to her; There's too much to live for.
She looks past the glory, the pain, the agony, the fame, the anger and the sanity,
She longs to reach that one destination that she isn't sure of but never looks back.
She meets a He.
She doesn't falter because He doesn't make her what she is - She is She, a woman.
She isn't a woman because of a man. She makes and breaks her life, He doesn't.

A beggar in the street, a hungry lost child and a stray dog comes across her path.
She has only one loaf of bread.
Who does she give it to? She asks herself why she wants to give it away.
Charity. What does it mean to her? She lives for herself but doesn't like to hurt others.
She looks at the beggar and tells him to start walking on his own two feet and find the light that leads him to a better life. A piece of advice.
She leads the lost child to his mother, leaving them alone together to celebrate their reunion. A mother's love, a child's belonging. A piece of aid.
The stray dog doesn't ask for help. He finds his own way to a garbage dump. Stale food. His Dinner. No complaints. Only sniffs her shoes and starts walking away. She wishes to give it the loaf of bread but she doesn't. A piece of ignorance.
What is Charity? Is she what she wants to be, what she needs to be?
Who should she be? What should she do?.....

There are things that are better left unanswered because in each step of its search, she finds a sparkling piece of diamond that forms a part of the jewel in her heart, her mind, her body, her soul.
Others around her wonder what she really feels about the world but it never changes;
She is oblivious. She sees past the first skin. She never leaves her intuitions behind.
Materials make her happy but none last till the break of dawn of the upcoming day.
Love, Friendship, Companionship, Brotherhood, Family.... They never fail to uplift her.
She loses her path sometimes and forgets her intellect but always finds a way back to her nest -
The cosy bed in her home, beside the ones she loves, her baby Angel, her friend, her sister.
It doesn't matter to her where she ends up as long as she's happy.
She doesn't know why she sometimes thinks too hard and cannot fall asleep.
She doesn't know why she cries and can't find a reason to stop.
She doesn't know why she's sometimes happy to be sad.
She doesn't know why she just doesn't care.
She is in control and yet very unstable.
Shimmering in the night, she is the drop of water that fills the ocean.

Okay, maybe it was a little corny, but I hope it didn't make you wince! :D

Happy Easter everybody!

P.s. I think I have the hugest crush on Scotty McCreery from American Idol. Can't believe he's only 17, with that killer voice of his.

Who's your latest crush?

Soul to Soul

A lazy feeling sweeps over me as I listen to some jazz and country soul. Sometimes don't you wish you could sing flawlessly without straining your vocal chords? I've always dreamed of performing solos with a voice like Adele's, Regina Spektor's or even the Japanese singer, Yui for that matter.
*Sigh*
Big big dreams, I'd say. Life was much easier when we were kids. We thought the death of a puppy was the worst thing that could ever happen to us. And look at us now. Bad-hair days, assignments, university exams, internships, health, money, and every other thing that keeps our mind pre-occupied.
*Double sigh*
Also, I haven't read a good book in ages. All I read are text books about economics, law and accounts. I miss my Paulo Coelhos and Jeffrey Archers. I need to discover some new authors too. Browsing through fashion blogs and shopping sites are most time consuming and I can't seem to get over it. It's time for a detox. A 'fashion/shopping detox' rather.
But for now, it's another outfit post. Took these when I had gone to watch Anand Bhushan's show which was followed by Gaurav & Ritika, and Koga by Jenjum & Jasleen. Thanks to Linno of UNNAMED for the the passes although she couldn't make it for the show. I didn't really take a lot of photos because I had to rush back to attend my class... Oh, exams!

[ASOS maxi skirt and shoes, thrifted top, Forever New clutch, F21 Ear-rings]

I seem to be over indulging in maxis. And it's not over yet. You'll find me wearing it all throughout this season. No jeans for me; they're too warm and sticky. Shorts are lovely, but sometimes people over here stare too much. Hence, the maxis have topped my list this season.

Give Adele's 'Someone Like You' a listen and you'll surely feel like listening to more of what her voice has to offer!

Tell me, what's the most recent book you've read?

And so they move you

Drawing inspiration from random photographs as I hibernate and prepare for my exams. I haven't been doing much, though I had attended a few shows at the Wills India Fashion Week [Day 4]. I will update you on that in a while but for now, I'll have these pictures speak on my behalf as they incessantly inspire me, with each glance I cast at them.

So, what gets you inspired?

Contradiction

I've been thinking a lot lately about what category my blog would fit into. It can't be called a fashion blog because I don't write about fashion or have much to do with it, or a photography blog because I don't really take pictures of things other than my clothes, shoes and yours truly. I don't even write poetry any more so it doesn't fit into that group either. It kind of dawned to me that my blog is full of contradictions and random rants seasoned with a few outfit photos here and there. I really wish mine had a single flavour to taste but I guess I don't mind it just being a muddy concoction of everything that happen to cross my mind. So here's another random post. I heartily thank thee for reading it. :)

[Thrifted bag, skirt, outer, Asos pendant, FCUK, Primark)

I have tonnes of old clothes that I don't wear anymore so I was wondering,
What do you guys do with your old clothes/shoes?
